利兹大学是利兹英国规模最大、最负盛名的大学的语大学之一。学校始终致力于研究科学与产业之间的言学样关系，并将研究成果致力于利兹市的专业发展。利兹大学以教育成果享誉世界，利兹每年获得的大学的语正品春药研究经费额度为英国各大学的前十名，所以在英国本土很受学生和家长的言学样欢迎。

利兹大学的专业前身是建立于1831年的利兹医学院，以及建立于1874年的利兹约克郡科学院。1887年这两个学校与曼彻斯特欧文学院、大学的语利物浦大学学院合并为维多利亚联合大学。言学样1904年利兹大学获得皇家许可而成为独立的专业大学。经过一个多世纪的利兹发展，利兹大学成为了英国最负盛名的大学的语大学之一。利兹大学还是言学样英国白玫瑰大学联盟、N8大学联盟、英联邦大学联盟、欧洲大学联盟、红砖大学和罗素大学集团成员。利兹大学位于英格兰北部利兹市。大学的主体部分皆建于19世纪下半叶，当时的目的是为了达成对当地科学和技术发展的教育要求。1904年英王爱德华七世正式授予利兹大学大学的名号。
